Opened and poured a small taste then allowed it to breathe for an hour or so. Cool Cabernet fruit shows very well with red tones and a lovely greenish herbal undertone. Good balance and weight across the palate. Currants and dark fruit carry through the finish. Excellent. Drink now-2023.
This is a 2nd wine for Togni. Close to 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Found this on sale for $17 which is less than half the normal price. Paired with a Provencal stew. Not decanted but it probably would have helped. Deep violet color. Very fruit forward. Rich texture with notes of black cherry, currant, spice and kirsch. Firm tannins. Medium to full bodied. 90 points.
New World Blind Tasting Group $40+ (Bin 75): Dark core with maroon rim; violets, sexy spice, red and black currant, slight cedar; soft caressing texture, full and round, dark cherry, soft raspberry, red currant, a bit of leather; really well crafted wine.
