for me not very easy to describe, in the beginning a little bit too concentrated, too much extract, missing deepness and elegance, too much power, but with time gaining more fruit. the really fine acidity gives the freshness back to the concentrated wine and will give him a long life. The long finish ends with a mouthful of tar and licorice. 94-96
Beautiful and mature bouquet with still some cassis and a good dose of barnyard. On the palate a mature wine with chocolate, soft acidity and also soft, somewhat drying tannin. Quite mature and several in the group were not that much impressed, but I still could appreciate the wine for its luxury components and elegance. We probably had a bottle that hasn't been stored properly, but I nevertheless scored it 92. Leaving me wonder what a perfect bottle would score.
Bouteille en parfaite condition, le bouchon lui s'est cassé en mille morceaux, ce qui m'a fait craindre pour la qualité du vin mais il n'en fût rien heureusement. Niveau entre bottom et into neck. Non décanté. Magnifique nez sur les mûres et les prunes, puis une touche d'expresso. En bouche le vin est souple et doux, facile à boire mais avec une légère trame acide qui lui donne de la complexité et une certaine légèreté. Très belle longueur avec des tanins totalement intégrés. J'avais conservé un verre pour le lendemain sans qu'il y ait de changement notable, juste un peu moins de fraîcheur forcément.

(Dominus) which was a little weedy in the nose with a touch of carob, meat, sugar snap peas, cassis and nut. It had grit and dust to the finish and was also very good, but less enjoyable perhaps than the Araujo right now
