Very impressed. I really sort of expected to have this open for about 15 minutes before pouring it down the drain. Definitely not so! Still has quite a bit of acidity, young brambley red fruit, tobacco, smoke, worn saddle leather. The finish is actually quite smooth and integrated. On the finish, you get a bit of tart red fruit towards the very back. Very impressive that this 22-year-old wine still has a 20-second smooth berry finish before it goes to a secondary note. After it was open for about an hour and a half, a little more mushroom started to creep in. After probably two and a half hours, it was done. This held up better than the WHW 2004 Cabernet in my opinion.

Still has a lot of character and deep ruby color. Going clear towards the edges. More blueberries on the taste than anything.
