Brought to Ned Towle wine tasting of Germans and Austrians. Floral aroma mixed with peaches. The sweetness of the wine is nicely offset by the excellent level of acidity making for a beautifully balanced riesling. Lots of slate and minerality here, mixed with peaches and honeysuckle. Not overwhelmingly sweet, nor particularly viscous, especially for an auslese but very creamy, and an extremly long and lovely finish. A truly excellent example of a finely made auslese--and from a hot vintage no less. Chosen the WOTN by the vast majority from selection of 18 wines.
