A mix of tropical and citrus fruits, finished with honey, a hint of cream and a kind of smoky spice. Balanced and harmonious, concentrated yet light-footed, nearly delicate. A very good wine, and pleasurable to drink.

Intense deep golden, but still without an amber hue. Intense nose of tropical fruits, apricots, pastry, almonds, caramel, in addition on the palate lime, cream and some citrus, maybe something like orange peel. Much better than the last bottle some weeks ago, because of its play and complexity. 5/14/19/10. Normal 0,75 l bottles like this should evolve for a decade or more if perfectly stored since release. -2030? P.S. I have added the non goldcapsule with the white capsule now at least for the Norheimer Dellchen Auslese.

Golden yellow hue, with hint of green at meniscus. Nose of mangoes and vanilla, hints of wild white flowers and the tang of orange peel. Palate medium weight, with a plumpness of texture, giving sensuous mouthfeel. Fresh marmalade, apricots and light honey giving way to greengage fresh acidity, coating the mouth with pleasure and unctuousness. Good finish that satisfies more with tingling playfulness than great length. Lovely example of mature Auslese from the great Donnhoff. Mine was white capsule, not gold and half bottle. Drink up and enjoy before acidity begins to fade.

I'm not quite sure even if there was a Auslese Goldkapsel in 2003. But I'm sure that most of the tasting notes given here refer to the Auslese with white capsule.
Light golden. Cellared under perfect conditions since release. Scents of lime, honey, flowers. Not highly complex or changing, but complex enough to be animating. On the palate it is still sweet enough to go with medium sweet dessers, but better as the dessert or as an aperitif. On the palate it shows more power, but all in all not living up to expectations given the 98 points from Pierre Rovani for the WA in Dec 2004. 5/12/17/10. -2030+ if perfectly cellared since release. Maybe it was more impressing in its youth.

Deep golden yellow in color. Soaring aromatics of ripe orchard fruits veering towards tropical fruit aromas, yellow citrus, vanilla, honeysuckle and herbs. Excellent interplay of generous sweetness and good acidity keeps things fresh on the palate even for a 2003, shows honey poached peaches & meyer lemons, hint of melon, superb acidity and a very long herbal & honey finish.
