Dry gritty soil mixed with black fruit - all tangy oak and vanilla mixed with terroir. This is classic Pataille - great value, drinkable now but will be interesting to see what this will be like in 2-3 years.
medium light body with quite a dark tone to it. the nose has a bit of meat and smoke to it, the fruit isnt overly present on the nose. the palate is fairly bright with nice acidity, there's a fair bit going on but its a bit young and tight right now, the tannins are pretty fine and they coat the tongue, there's a good length of flavour, it seems to have all the parts, a bit more time will see if they all fall into place as well as i'd hope.
Needs a bit of a decant to get things moving all rather primary but with time there is black fruit, vanilla from the oak, grated coconut and spices. Great potential and actually is giving up some lovely Burg loveliness right now - feral and brooding.
