1 of 2, very good cork. Youthful appearance- bright medium ruby core, pale ruby rim. Nose shows purple fruits, black cherry, violets but also some savoury meatiness. Medium bodied, quite dark and savoury, meaty notes, quite mouth-filling with some firm, but fine tannins, lovely vibrant acidity and a harmonious if not overly long finish. Excellent, drinking well.

Decanted for an hour or so, this is starting to develop into a fantastic wine, medium to light body, but quite dark in tone. The fruit is darker red berries, earthy and mulberry, the tannins are velvety, lovely acid and finish, will keep and might even improve

This has now taken on a more oaky nose and taste. Has plenty more time left. Strangely at the moment with the oak well blended in with the fruit, this reminds me of a classic, aged Rioja (Tondonia with ten years behind it springs to mind). A shame it was my last bottle as I'd love to see how this evolved over the next 5-6 years. Wonderful stuff.

Wonderful stuff. Decent price. Depth and character so often absent at sub £25. In fact, buy when you can. Complex and forward nose, bright and breezy palate, as previous note states: mix of dark fruits and earthiness, with a long satisfying finish. If all Burg at this price was like this.........

Dry gritty soil mixed with black fruit - all tangy oak and vanilla mixed with terroir. This is classic Pataille - great value, drinkable now but will be interesting to see what this will be like in 2-3 years.
