  • Better and better and better. Continues to unfold layers of complexity and interest. Tragically, this is my last bottle - I'm left with a sense that this wine has years ahead of it...

  • This wine continues to be my favorite CA Chardonnay. Pure pear, apple and lemon/lime fruit, with a gravelly mineral core and strong saline/herbal/musky component. Notably missing is new oak, the buttery/rich MLF flavors, and any sense of sweetness. Somehow, it still is clearly a California wine, not quite as racy as a Cru Chablis though it shares a kinship there. Needs to warm up a touch to really show its stuff, but there is a ton of character and complexity here. Unwinds with food, filling in the gaps and showcasing its component parts.
