  • Special occassion - special wine (Zeeland). Medium-medium(+) yellow/lemon, viscous and thick @14.5% abv. Mindblowing aromas of peach, almonds, sweet spices. Off dry-medium(-) sweet, medium acidity and full body. Unctuous and opulent palate of candied lemon, peach, marzipan, cinnamon, pepper, honey. Intense slow-moving deliciousness lasts for minutes, and then some. Fresh, deep, intense.
    Majestic.

  • What a wine this is... Pale golden color, it has a kind of sweet nose, with loads of tropical fruit, hint of orange zest, peach and almonds, very complex. But it is a dry wine (not bone dry though) and it's loooooooong..... Drinking very well now, but no need to hurry (am happy that I still have a couple of bottles left). Love this, probably the best Pinot Gris from the Alsace I've ever tasted.

  • Gorgeous wine. Appealing straw gold color in the glass, with a clear viscosity on the swirl. Pleasing aromas of caremalized bananas and orange/peach. Gorgeous texture in the mouth, with plenty of acidity to balance the slightly sticky texture and caremalized fruits. Very pleasing aftertaste. Wine glass smells delicious a good 15 minutes after finishing. Not a wine region i know particularly well, but this is a cracker

  • (WineGate) Deep gold color, crystal clear with tears that take a fairly long time to come down.
Dense nose at first, ripe pineapple, pear, mango, dried almonds, lees, honey with a few hints of its oak past in the back (a bit of reduction there as well).
Big in the mouth, honey, syrup, heavy on the tongue, high acidity that keeps the balance, lime, pineapple again, pear, green apple, white chocolate (what?!?), a bit of alcohol burn but nothing unpleasant, medium aftertaste.
It feels a bit young and I'm sure it is still is. This woulde be great with a few years on its back.
The price is a big concern to all those who are not used to pay a premium for a white wine (50euros) and sadly thats a big crowd, but then again, all the better for the rest of us!!
    A fine Alsatian Grand Cru.
