With beef tenderloin, asparagus, baked potato. Dark, almost opaque ruby. Nice nose, dark berry. Goodly amount of fruit on the palate (blackberry) with a touch of sweet spice; smooth, medium weight, subdued tannins, a touch sweet. Subdued acid.
Decanted for sediment. Cherry, blackberry, cedar and black currents on the nose. Light perfume as well. In balance and ready to drink. After an hour or two, some depth and complexity. A very good wine for the price.
