  82-83 pts; Deep ruby to almost purple in color. Caramel, blackberries and boysenberry on the nose. Lacks balnce, heavily oaked, medium tannins with nuances of blackberry, and toasted oak as you approach the finish. Oak and vanilla on the finish with not much fruit coming through. Decent merlot, heavily oaked, could use more time in the bottle.
