Rosenthal Wine Merchant Saturday Tasting (Rosenthal Wine Merchant, New York, NY): This is not ready for drinking. Heavy, tight, and muted were some of the words used to describe it--this after the bottle had been open for more than an hour. Some hints of dark cherries and baking spices manage to poke through an otherwise overwhelming wall of tannins and acid. This needs at least two more years of bottle aging, and probably considerably more. This was the most impenetrable wine of the tasting. NOT RATED.

Not bad but not a lot of complexity. Like cherry, mild oak, not much on the finish.

Dusty dark cherries all the way on the nose. And the palate is too dark. Maybe no colorino? Strength and breath on the palate. Very Italian.
