  • Dark purple color, with modest aromas of cedar box, spice, and white pepper. Medium-full bodied with nice resolved tannins and acidity that support the bold black and blueberry dark chocolate mousse. The finish is maybe a little short for the bolder fruit flavor, but the chocolate and spice linger. Delicious wine, drinking perfect now, don't wait!

  • Dark purple in color, almost inky, aromas of dark berry and black cherry fruit with white pepper, spice and a touch of eucalyptus. Macerated blackberry and black raspberry on dark chocolate mousse and espresso. The flavors are nicely balanced and the slightest bit of soft tannin peak the other flavors. Full bodied, luscious, and perfect NOW! This will probably stay near its peak for a couple more years, but there's nothing to be gained by waiting. No decanting necessary, just a brief airing in the glass.

  • Decanted as a nightcap for a dinner party.
    Excellent.
Red raspberry, hint of tobacco, minerals, green pepper.

  • I lovely wine. Served it with rack of lamb and portobello mushrooms. My guests loved it.

  • Decanted. This took about 30 minutes to really open up. At first it seemed a little hot and disjointed, but much of that blew off. Still almost black in the center to dark red on the edges. This is exactly what I was looking for tonight: some toasty oaky notes, dark chocolate, dark plums on the nose (+ a touch of alcohol on the edges). On the palate, there is still some heat, but chocolatey and full-bodied with a finish rounded out by some chalky tannins (and, once more, a touch of heat). Not overly acidic, this paired rather well with meatballs and mushroom risotto.
