  • Ted Lemon's first vintage. I may have liked this more than others, but I thought this was fantastic. From a pristine bottle with a spinning capsule, high fill, and perfect cork. Beautiful, powerful aged chardonnay nose with almonds and hazelnuts, honey, flowers, butter, and ripe pear and apple fruit in the background. It's got a concentrated, thick texture but it's wonderfully smooth and there's no oak tannin. There's plenty of acid to provide balance to the richness but the acid is fully integrated and not at all biting or harsh. Great length. I'm not all that experienced in the genre but this is easily the best Cali chard I've ever had and I'd imagine it could give most good Meursualts a run for their money.
