Drank with friends paired with a nice truffle cheese, some baklava, and some other turkish desserts. This wine was able to stand up to all of them and showed a bright caramel sweetness with the cheese and a more savory toffee flavor with the sweeter desserts. Very enjoyable.

Quite bitter and nondescript on opening night, becoming more burnt sugar and orange creme with time. A little old diesel smell, too. Not bad, and actually much better after 5 days in the fridge. Not really worth rating the first night but very good at the last sip.

On the nose, a bit of petrol that also reminds a bit of a vinyl shower curtain, ala the '86 Rieussec I opened several years ago. With this bottle, that note is perhaps less pronounced, particularly with time in the glass where it picks up some rich sweetness that comes across as delicate. On the palate, medium bodied. Pleasant enough, but not particularly complex. There's a sharpness to the palate that keeps my score down.

Darker and more botrytis than the Climens 1976. Rich, powerful and extremely complex.
