Opened, poured about 1/2 ounce to taste and let sit 1½ hours in 55° cellar. Typical Chalone AVA with a hint of chalky limestone. Sweetness of dark red fruits (black cheeriest) on the nose and tongue. Good balance; sweet with perfect acidity great with Belgian Ale Stew. A good 30+seconds finish.

14.9% alcohol. Dark red color. Ripe nose of blackberry and a bit of heat. In the mouth, a bit disjointed and ripe, with jammy blackberry and some toasty oak. Hot finish. B

6/21/2013 - bobpsi Does not like this wine:
Muted nose of tart red fruits. Light body and bitter palate, masked red fruits and not much else.
