  This wine seems to have devolved from previous note. Still fresh on the nose with lots of strawberries and cherry compote, and undertones of earth and coffee persist.
  
  The palate is less interesting. Rich, ripe, syrupy red fruits, Kirsch dominate through a medium plus fruity finish. Pepper appears subtly on the mid palate, but the complexity has waned. 15.3% alcohol and little prospect for evolution at this point.
  
  Another Cab lover’s Syrah.

  Deep ruby with a nose of Blackberry, black raspberry, cola, earth, forest floor, mustiness and black olive.
  
  Palate of intense black fruit, blueberry pie, coffee, stewed black cherries, black currant, white pepper.
  
  Beautiful viscous mouthfeel with a persistent finish. Not many secondary notes even after ten years, but a very nice wine.

  Decanted-
  Meaty aromas flow from the glass reinforced with strong olive notes that transition to show toasted anise, camphor, smoke, singed rosemary, sage brush, leather, mushroom and umami with blackberry, black plum and wild berry.
  On the palate dense and meaty with flavors that show iron rich red meats, old leather, Kalamata olives, sage and rosemary, toasted anise, smoke, earth, dried porcini, black plum, foraged blackberry, soy and jerky.The wine shows density across the mid-palate, ripe and above moderate tannins and balanced acidity and alcohol.The finish lasts echoing the savory and umami notes.
