  Merryvale wines are built for the long run. This ten year old merlot was still soft, supple with ample fruit after 10 years. Spicy earthy notes still in the forefront. Last bottltle. Bummer

  Very nice dark fruit and vanilla/oak nose . Very lush full fruit with oak and vanilla on the palate with a smooth long finish. May be too much oak vanilla for some people but it was hittin for me.

  This wine is only fair. I purchased a bottle at the PA state store for $14.95 as a freind of mine thought it was great and purchased 2 cases; it is priced around $30 a bottle acording to the list price. The color is good. The bouquet is very fruity, no oak, very sweet smelling. The wine tasted very young and off balance, lots of tannins and sour tasting. I let it air for about an hour and came back to it as I did not like it at first. I finished the glass with grilled london broil and it was acceptible however I have to say I like the St Francis merlot, 2001 much better for around the same price and the Flora spring merlot 2003 also around $13/ bottle much better. I would not recommend this wine as there are just many better tasting wines for this price.

  Aromas/flavors of black cherry, plum, currant, blackberry, cocoa and vanilla. Rich, lush mouthfeel. Lingering finish with a touch of mocha.
