Restaurant des Florets in Gigondas: In the bouquet red berries and a lot of garrigue. Same on the palate. Pleasant balance between acidity and sweetness. Very pleasurable wine. 88 - 89

Medium bodied. Nicely balanced cherry flavors with a core minerality and subtle bitterness that is most pleasing. Nice finish with some evolution. Carries the alcohol well.

This has improved markedly since my note of 11/3/13. Some of the rough edges have smoothed out and this is a creditable, varietally accurate Cotes Du Rhone, but it still falls just short of a true "Vacqueryas". For $15, though it was good and I would buy it again. This sort of wine aged in concrete tanks seems to be at its best at at least 4 yrs. This one is a DRINK NOW. The label shown is a 2012, but the two bottles we had were 2011, so the label shows the wrong vintage.

Popped and poured. Drank at dinner at home with wild rice and sweet potato. Dark black cherry color. Thin to medium legs. Nose shows black cherry, almond and leather. Well balanced. Notes of blackberries, currants, some sour cherry and oak. Medium finish.

Still very dark, nearly black. Nose black raspberry, chocolate cherry, almond, garrigue. Palate heavy, dominated by dark fruit and cocoa, hot, tannic.
