  • Delicious wine! Rocks earthiness at its finest!

  • Purchased direct from winery & cellared since. Last of 6 bottles & a day after the ‘09 Pig, which I found past its prime, somewhat disjointed & reductive. The ‘11 upon PNP had significant barnyard, savory, Cayuse funk notes on the nose, which blew off with time, leaving a savory, floral nose. Interestingly, the palate seemed hot & disjointed with black & red fruit, despite ‘11 being an off vintage. But, there was nice acidity, which helped balance it out. Not sure what to make of these wines 10+ years old. Think I need to drink them sooner. Drink now.

  • Showed well. More fruit than many Cayuse. Still had the sense of some Syrah with meaty undertones.
Nice. Quite the contrast from the '04 Shafer HSS.

    Tasted non blind.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking. Nose of barnyard, white pepper, tobacco and mixed berries. Flavors of black berries, black cherries, blueberries and plums. Medium acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold.

  • Dark ruby. Let sit for about 20-30 min in a simple decanter. Wow this is great. Blackberries, bacon grease, juniper, black cherry, fig - the fruit is ripe but the other aromas have a rustic edge. Medium acidity, blueberries, black olive, 5 spice, crispy duck skin, pomegranate, black pepper. Smooth tannins that sharpen as it carries the fruit to the finish. The rockets on the pig are firing on all cyclinders - not sure for how long.
