came in second to the 2008 in a Termanthia vertical tasting 2006-2011. As expected, huge aromatics of mint, chocolate covered cherry and vanilla. The oak is more up front here, but the fruit and smoke flavors are strong enough to balance the magnificent monster. This probably needs at least 5 more years.
Tasted at the New York Wine Experience 2013 Grape: Tinto de Toro = Tempranillo Darkest blackish red and purple; intense bouquet, smelling of black berries, tannins with underlying sweetness, notes of dark chocolate. Much too young. Should evolve into a great wine in 10 years
