  • In my opinion, those Cahors wines which added merlot are significantly influenced by the character of merlot. I have tasted a wine from Rigal added as high as 30% of merlot, and it's very easy going, but really can't tell the strength and power of Cahors. This bottle seen to be in the same way, more feminine than muscular. Good seductive nose of red fruits and cedar. Wild berry, candied fruits in the mouth. No further potential, for a $10 Cahors you really can't ask for more. A wine for pleasure, drink now.

PS: This wine uses Nomacorc Select 700 as its cork

  • Lovely rich, pure, Cahors. Wonderful colour, depth on the nose, long finish. Malbec, of course, but has to be a dash of Merlot in there too with the nose. Rounded, ripe with balance and drinkability. 2010 Cahors: nothing not to like here.
