Wonderful nose of sous bois and crunchy red fruit. The palate has good depth and concentration. Good acidity running through it. Cherry, forest floor, spice and strawberry. Really delightful particularly for a 1997. Mature and going strong.

Very lush and full-flavored but lacking much in terms subtlety, grace, and complexity. By no means is this over-the-top or cloying but it leaves you wanting.

Zachys La Paulee "Warm-up" Dinner (Lafayette - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Everything you expect from Vosne Grand Cru. Beautiful red fruit and spice. Ripe, but well balanced for 1997. Fully mature.
