1st of 18. Poured into red burgundy glasses based on prior reviews. Although good, this must of been an off bottle based on everyone else’s reviews. There just wasn’t much going on and was almost flat. You win some and you lose some. Hopefully, the next bottle is better. If anyone has any insight on what’s going on here, let me know.

The bottle was opened and the initial pour was in chilled burgundy glasses. It was then masterfully decanted in a chilled long neck carafe, preserving as much of the bubbles as possible. The color was bright straw gold. Bubbles were smooth, fine, present but not overpowering. the initial nose brought forward earthy tones- moist hay, lees, and beeswax. After decanting, and as it evolved in the wide burgundy glasses, the nose took a turn into fruit- lychee, citrus, honeysuckle and green apple.
The palate was beyond complex. Slicingly acidic and fresh at initial pour, it softened beautifully in carafe. This has many long years of life left ahead in the bottle. First dimensions of lees and wild honey evolved quickly into secondary tones of citrus, lemon meringue and lime. The finish was long and left behind brioche and very subtle hints of caramelized butter.
Nothing like this in recent memory. A lovely experience.

Un des grands Champagne bu dans ma vie. Tout y est, équilibre, fraîcheur et richesse en même temps, grande classe et longueur interminable. 97-98
One of my best Champagne if not the best I ever drank. So balanced, classy, rich, creamy, deep, the length keeps going amd going.
