Especially for the price, this is a gem. Rich and deep, everything you would expect from a Carmenere, and more than you would expect from an inexpensive one.

(Concha y Toro Carménère Casillero del Diablo Reserva) Opaque purple red violet color; tart black fruit, chocolate, ripe black fruit nose; velvety textured, ripe black fruit, violets, pencil lead palate; medium-plus finish (13.5% alcohol; sample provided by winery; I'm not a big Carmenere fan, but this is the best I've tried)

Starting to lose its fruit, probably best to drink before 2015. Still a good QPR, light-medium bodied with good balance and spiciness.
