(Blind Home Wine Tasting of '03,'04,'05 and '06 Insignia) Most had this as second wine--I had it last. Not because it was not good, but I thought it suffered as being too young and needing more time. I think it will be great in a couple of years. Tannins still a little tight--but is full bodied and has complexity of flavors.
Nose of currant, violet, flowers and black/wild berry. Big, beautiful & soft but needs a ton of time for tannins to integrate. Racy berry fruit, currants, spice, acidity and tannins. Heat from the alcohol that needs time as well. Finish is a bit tight as well. Very good but will be great in another 3 - 7 years.
Ate with Filet & Salmon dinner. Fantastic in the mouth with deep current, cherry and chocolate notes. Opened 1-1/2 hrs before dinner and still was tight at the beginning of the meal but opened up by the end.
