  Aroma is initially red berries and alcohol, but occasionally some blackberry and dark cherry peeks through. Also a little vanilla and menthol. Taste is similar, along with some cedar, spice. And heat. When the heat subsides (with some air time and with food), it is mellower, has a nice dark cherry taste, and has a nice smooth, clean mouth feel. Lighter Pinot - not fruity, not jammy. A little on the acidic side if drinking without food. It grows on you...
