Medium gold color, with a pleasing balance of age and youth. Overall well balanced, with a backbone of minerality, notes of citrus, carmelized smoky fruit. One of the better '99 Kistlers lately. Time to drink, though.

Wineflock - Chardonnay Shootout (Dennis'): Group #3, My #10 - Full deep caramel/gold color. Big forward nose of oaky buttescotch - showing substantial age. Big oxidized yellow fruit. Some fruit there, but over the hill for me. Really not sure what the group found to like in this wine - I identified blind as an older Kister (would have guess more like early to mid 90s) and it seemed obviously past prime to me.

Flock - Chardonnay Shoot Out (Dennis'): Dark gold color. Rich, sweet nose has marshmallow, confectionery sugar, minerals, smoke and sweet spices. Big and rich on the palate with gobs of smoky fruit. Luscious and juicy across the mid-palate into a long finish. My #4, Group #3.

Sad to report but we poured it down the sink. Way too much oxidation. Looked fine but the smell and taste were hard to take.
