Very mature orange- ruby color; very savory, spicey nose with hints of caramel and aldehyde. Similar palate with firm acidity - to the point that you felt the wine was going to break in one of two directions. Crash and burn or will evolve in the glass with positive notes overtaking the acid. While neither occurred dramatically, some nice brown baking spices and umami created a nice sweet vs savory thing. Still would have been far more enjoyable with less pronounced acidity. Very good nonetheless.
