Burgundy For Lunch Bunch Holiday Event 2023 (Phoenix, AZ USA): Served blind. Much darker color than the 3 preceding wines, but not over the hill. This was a superb example of mature Burgundy, utterly palate staining. Viscous with intense minerality, and a whiff of cinnamon. The breed and class here was so evident, not surprised on the reveal that it was this legendary wine.

Heavy on the struck match note of Leflaive on the nose and palate with screaming good acidity and freshness in this bottle. There are lovely mature flavors underneath of ripe sweet corn and mint and more tension here than in the 2000. The finish is complex and minerally with excellent tip of the tongue intensity. This is youthful and delicious if one can handle the struck match character.

Flower day, extremely youthful, straw collar, toasted sesame nose, on the palate almost like a spicy lemon juice, plenty acidity left, great showin! 95-96
