Palate: The wine is Dry in the mouth with a Medium(+) level of acidity. It has Medium Ripe/Soft tannins and a Medium Level of alcohol (13.00%). It has Medium body and Medium(+) intensity primary flavours of Liquorice, cabbage, secondary flavours of Smoke, ash and tertiary flavours of cooked jammy strawberry and raspberry. The finish is Medium. Baked jammy fruit, cabbage, ash and smoke. Baked jammy fruit, cabbage, ash and smoke Overall: Not rated Conclusion: It is a Faulty wine. Too Old Over the hill or badly stored - off bottle; Premium priced (£49.50)
Kooyong Estate Single Vineyard Pinot tasting (Cloudwine South Melbourne): This wine shows much more perfume that the Meres with a delicate, sweeter berry that is nestled in its fair share of earthiness. The palette is stewed red fruit with a mineral twang and a dusty briar that leads into super concentrated dark fruits with a tight tannin finish. This one needs some time.
