  • From Coravin, 88/90

Edgy wine, some Brett for sure, coffee grounds, forrest floor, and leaves, tertiary, and leftovers of dar fruits... mushroomy, complex nose, dried meat, lots of interactions here

Pretty thin, still pretty and barnyard, but red berries, wet leaves and freshness give it some appeal, although I m not fan of those wines, the drinkability, freshness and still grippy fresh tannins make the wine drinkable despite Brets...

TBH after a good aeration the whole wine changes to more fruity and appealing style ... It is a nerve breaker so far ...

  • Fully mature. Very pretty wine with nice aromatics and plummy fruit that’s mostly traded its youthful exuberance for stately elegance. Lots of earthy nuance coupled with a relatively refined texture. Weirdly, the oak seems more noticeable now than in any past bottles, but it’s reasonably restrained. Decant for sediment.

  • Peak District break 06-2022; 6/26/2022-7/3/2022: Benefitted from being opened a while, this tasted slightly old school, but in a good vintage works well, smokey and dark fruited, some green bell pepper, the tannins are still present and slightly chunky, but adding texture and interest now, very enjoyable without the class of more recent vintages

  • A bit of darkening at the rim. Very aromatic, with dark plum and blackberry that has a a bit of a mentholish edge, as well as a hint of barnyard. The tannins are mostly resolved and the wine coats your mouth with a very gentle assertiveness, showing the same ripe dark fruit, with earthy notes and some cassis. There isn’t a ton of complexity, but there is some impressive depth and length. A lovely bottle of wine that’s in a great place. I don’t think this is a super long ager, and expect to drink my last bottle in the next 3 to 5 years.

  • Consistent with previous notes from two years ago. Linear, but balanced and satisfying. Drink now through 2023. Technical score: 90. Enjoyment score: 92.
