Has all the right components except of one: acidity, which is often lacking in California Sangioveses no matter where they hail from. Nicely made with just the right dollop of oak. But would have been better had the grapes been picked earlier.
Translucent brown-tinged magenta. Nose of earth, spice and a bit of raspberry. Light to medium bodied, cranberries, sharp cherries, grainy tannins, smoke, and a medium finish. I agree that this is nice but maybe too subtle.
Thought this was quite good and a great QPR. Cherries on the nose and palate. Medium body with medium tannins and finish. Drinking very well. A nice "Italian" from California. Only one more bottle remaining; wish I purchased more.
