Translucent deep garnet colour, nose of plum and funky forest. Palate is dense, dry, tannins are softened but still present, and acidity is still authentic to Chianti Sangiovese. A satisfying progression tasting this every so often. This is my last bottle, sadly.

Appearance: Bright and clear, it has medium ruby color, with garnet rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity of black fruit of plum, blackberry and red fruit of red cherries, maturity notes of musk and tobacco, pungent spice of black pepper, mineral notes of earth. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry, with medium (+) acidity and medium (+) tannin, a bit grippy on texture, the wine has medium alcohol and medium body, demonstrating medium intensity flavors of red fruit such as red cherries and cranberry, black fruit of plum, mineral notes of earth, sweet spice of clove. The wine has a medium finish. Conclusion: Good quality Italian Chianti Classico with an intense nose showing nice complexity, the wine has the clear aged characters, demonstrating the riserva profile with the varietal good acidity and tannin, though it is a bit grippy and rough. The palate has reasonable concentration and similar notes, with a fair length on the finish. It is ready to drink now and not intend for further ageing but can maintain for another 2-3 years.

Ugh. Earth and baked tar. Not to my style at all. Palate is better than the nose.
