This one still had some kick to it. Lots of blue and black fruit on the nose and on entry, slight charcoal and eucalyptus mid-palate through finish. Could easily carry on for 10 more years.

decanted for 1 hour and consumed over an additional 1.5 hours. With this level of Syrah I always get a smokey taste upfront. Some call it charcoal or tobacco then it mellows out over the course of drinking. I got a hint of what i could only call menthol but in a pleasant way maybe the spiciness others have mentioned. I got the dark red fruits flavor that lasted and lingered on the palette but very smooth luscious mouth feel. 14.9% Alcohol but not overpowering . AT 11 yrs old it still has plenty of life and should continue to evolve but in a good drinking spot now.

A really nice American syrah. Doesn't reach the complexity of a N Rhone, but definitely more interesting than most US Syrah I try. Lots of depth, and still quite young.

Wonderful American Syrah, decanted for 1 hr; definite notes of charcoal and berry fruit.
