The nose is initially pretty spicy, with oak and briar but that gives way to some earthy tones and then violets and smoky blue fruit. The palette is a little one dimensional, with lots of heat, but there are some delicate chocolate and mineral elements that can be detected over the chewy tannins and the big acidic finish.
