  • Burgundy Tasting (JBaker's in York): -- popped and poured --
    -- tasted a single pour blind --

Very pale green-yellow color. A bit sulphury on the Nose immediately after uncorking, but this ultimately gives way to a clean, fresh and crisp presentation that comes across as lightly powdery. Medium-light bodied. Lots of smoky leather on the palate, with some mineral on the finish, which is short and of medium-light intensity; lean; 13% alc..

  • Light straw, with glints of green. Salt caramel on the nose, and some blend of honey and lemon. The palate is initially a bit flabby, but it finishes dry, and is very long. Very assertive on the palate, despite only 13% alcohol; the bite must be from acidity. This doesn't quite hang together, despite several elements being very impressive; I suspect it has the potential to improve with age. On sale at the Co-op for £14 (about half its normal price, I think) it seems worth risking a purchase or two to find out.

  • Crisp with lemon, salty mineral, and pop corn notes. Very good, especially with food.
