PnP. Medium red. A pronounced spiciness on the nose and some "Burgundian" funk starts things out. On the palate this shows very good balance with the spicy quality dominant initially; this then evolves over an hour or so to a smooth red fruited palate. May be beginning to fade after that. Enjoyable and interesting. Probably not a lot of upside from here at age 13.

Opened 3 hours before tasting with a number of premier Crue red burgundies. This was second to the Jessie from the same vintage. A tribute to the ageability of Oregon Pinots.

Clearly a well-made wine. At this point in time, it has plenty of length and depth to it; there was nothing thin or light about it. However, there was no hint of fruit - no cherry, no strawberry, no other berry - nothing. I ended up not particularly enjoying it, unlike most of the other Cristoms I have drunk over the years, which have generally been delicious.

PNP. Cork perfect. Color ruby. Nose has spice earth and cherry. Swishing shows acid and tannin structure and light cherry fruit. Tannins are a little more prominent than acids. Sipping shows nice polish despite the background alcohol and nice persistence. This is a bit more delicate than many Cristom vintages, but I like it just the same
