Straw. Precise nose of hazelnut, lemon peel, and smokey reductive notes. Orchard fruit on the palate, framed by excellent acidity, leads to a nutty, spiced, lingering finish. Racy, penetrating, and intense, yet not fat or overripe in the least. With a few more years, this will be a benchmark Meursault. Drink starting 2018.
This is way too young. The nose was slightly reductive with lemon peel, citrus fruit, sulphur, and oak. The nose did not fully open up. Palate was slightly more open than the nose towards the end of a 90 mins dinner with lemon, acidicity and minerals in the mouth. Its not a fat meursault at the current stage but the weight and intensity were there. This will be lovely 5-7 year when its ready. 91 tonight with a 92-93 potential. You probably need to decant it or slow ox a good 4-5 hours if you consume it today.
