This was absolutely fantastic. At its peak. Peaches, other stone fruit, curd, and great mineral drive with some mature notes. Great presence, and persistence, developed lovely. Sauzet crushed 2011.

At Winston, Noosa. This was a delicious bottle of Sauzet Folatieres with a clear light green gold colour and a soaring nose of white flowers, white nectarines and peaches, yuzu and wet limestone. The palate is quite rich with plenty of stone fruit and citrus backed by plenty of extract and mineral drive that grips the palate and provides excellent length. Classic 1er Cru Puligny. The 2011 Sauzets are a great success.

Certainly no premox here; if anything this bottle could benefit from another couple of years as it feels slightly tense. Plenty of lemon on the nose and the palate, and on the mid-palate the wine has a bitter, zesty character. Finish feels quite a bit softer and, although not assertive, is long and cream-inflected. Very good but would have been better if the mid-palate had come into balance.

Good quality Puligny Montrachet, but yet again I felt this was suffering from pre-mox, although it was not as dominant in some of the other bottles I've had. A shame. Why can't Burgundy producers fix this problem?

Lovely pale gold colour. Light lemony citrus on nose which followed through to the palate. Hints of melon on delicious minerality. Generous finish with floral notes.
