  • White Burgs & Jack White (Oceanaire, Mpls, MN): Pale gold color. Drank 1+ glass over 45 minutes. Another year under its belt and that much better. This was just crystalline in its stony minerality, showing lovely purity and finesse, lemon, white peach, and brine. This has energy and a crisp acid that gives it excellent lift. A great bottle to finish with.

  • I really liked this white Burg tonight too. Showed up a smidge cold but its always difficult to carry whites for 30 minutes to a venue and get the temp perfect. I'd rather have it start out chilly than warm. Classic minerality with bright energetic acidity but still a showing some richness and lushness of a range of citrusy fruit. We were fortunate to drink 3 stellar white Burgs tonight.

  • Some Nice Burgs at The Kenwood (The Kenwood, Mpls, MN): Light gold color. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour. This was cold on serving and needed some time to come to temp, but when it did, it was showing nicely. There's a wonderful lime/green fruit aspect to this wine on both the nose and palate where the tartness of the green fruit and dry extract really shine. Osk, tart green fruit, oak, white fruit, lemon, mineral, lime dry extract. 91+(+)pts.

  • Remarkably tasty - Apple, vanilla, white fruit in the nose. A potent strong and long palate, dry and minerally. Wonderful expression of Puligny.

  • Devin and I held an impromptu Christmas Veranda Time and were pleasantly surprised to have 35 people show up despite some surprise rain and week before the Big Day. We opened a total of six wines, three white, three red, trying to cover all the bases not knowing what pot luck side dishes would arrive. The main staple was a tomato based chicken orzo soup that was a hit.

This white burg continues to kick butt every time we try it. I wrote a great review of this back in June so for my Cellar Tracker friends I’ll try not to be too repetitive. Pale straw yellow and lots of flowers on the nose. (lavender maybe) It is a big giant beautifully built chardonnay, but as I mentioned it was not heavy like some. It was fruitier than buttery. You got minerals and fruits and just the right amount of acidity to keep you paying attention. I am down to just a couple of these now, but look forward to buying more at auction.
