Decent Spatlese Riesling. My spouse thought it had more "petrol" notes than she preferred, but I thought those notes were fairly muted and well-balanced with the rest of the wine on both the nose and palate. 88+

Unscrewed and poured. Sharp aroma of apricot and minerals. Mild flavors of pear and peach. Nice peach/mineral finish.
Straightforward, balanced, and delicious. Firm backbone, with what I would consider a normal level of sweetness for a spatlese. Good value in the 20ish range.

(Selbach-Oster Riesling Spätlese) ($26.00) More slate-liqueur now, a creamy-salty texture that isn’t at all sweet, but speaks directly to the Mosel soul.

Classic, lime vanilla cream, blue slate, slight smoky, young but approachable, ripe peach, clean, not heavy.

Straw yellow color with a honey melon nose. Same flavors on the palate. Semi sweet but still delicate with a pinot gris like finish.

Crisp, clear and precise with the acidity cutting straight through the tuna tartare at Nougatine. Great pairing.
