Forward, earthy, crisp wine, with a strong, tobacco, leaf and herbal leaning is on the bright, fresh, crunchy, red berry side of the style range. I'd opt for drinking this in its youth.

Singapore Airlines - Business & Lounges; 6/22/2015-6/26/2015 (Sydney, Singapore, Frankfurt): Big youthful, even sweet nose of plums, currants, strawberries. Reinforced with spicy oak. The palate has an odd menthol-like character to it too; everything promises much fruit on the palate, but it sits around the edge of the tongue, with very soft tannins, a rather dilute quality, and a short finish. Seems rather held up by the oak somehow. Serviceable but dull. Better than I expected given the vintage.

I did not have this Chateau on my radar, nor am I a fan of the 2011 vintage. A very nice surprize to see a dark purpled wine with deep color and a blue fruit driven nose with some minerality as well as wood. Very good mouthfeel, medium bodied with soft tannins. A real success for this vintage and great QPR. 89+
