Enters light and tart but possesses surprisingly persistent length. Cherries, stony and earthy minerals, and iodine partner in a lively, straightforward voice. Very companionable at the table.

Very savory; earth and woodsmoke. Tart cherries. Much meatier than its transparent ruby color suggests. Quite good with alder-planked salmon and mushroom risotto. I thought at one point that this wine’s better days were behind it but this was a really enjoyable bottle and I am thankful to have kept a few to this stage. Two more to go and will look for good opportunities to consume over the coming few months.

Tending more herbal with this bottle than previously — Licorice root, sea salt, oregano, thyme. Acidic, even perhaps a little thin; definitely more lively with food than on its own.
