watermelon, cantaloupe, and the rinds on opening. Herbal undertones with a meatiness. maybe prosciutto and melon?! slight tannic grip, med+ acid. great balance. med+ intensity. wow, very fun and serious wine.
Thanks to Lars for bringing this unusual and fascinating wine. Gorgeous, luminous orange hue. On the palate, all sorts of navel orange rind, faint marmalade adding thickness to the palate, and some chromatic tones of noisette and cashew. A real pleasure for after dinner sipping.
Encépagement: 80% Chardonnay, 20% Tocai Élevage: 3 weeks of skin maceration. Aged in barrel one year, then bottled and released.
