Malbec Chilean style. The is no disguising those typical to Chile flavors of pistachio shells, coffee bean and wet tree bark. Perfect dark magenta color. Distinctive nose of fresh cut hardwood, evergreen, mint and red fruit. The fruit is not defined or precise enough for a big score. Moderate to weak mid palate. We held it open for a couple of days and the fruit never really emerged, and the tannins never smoothed out. The finish is grainy charcoal with hemlock and some lingering black fruit.

Casillero del Diablo is one of the best values out there with consistent quality year after year and at a great price. It's tough to find a better wine under $10/bottle.

Opened for 30 minutes. Hints of Berries and Fruits. Short Finish. Good pairing with our Grilled Salmon and Scallops upon Aaron & Holly arrival for Christmas.

Great pepper and tannins with hearty notes of blackberry. Aged well, but likely at the end of its maturity.

Nothing special - certainly not the amazing fruit bombs we're used to from Casillero in their Cabs and Carmeneres.
