I like this cab but I think it needs substantially more time in the bottle to come together. If you like the cigar and tobacco flavors of stellenbosch this isn't a bad option. But I think it's still too early.

I can't decide if I like this. It has a bit of tomato on the nose like a Bordeaux. Smooth in the mouth, decent mid palate, and then the long tangy finish really hits your mouth. If you like V-8, you'll be intrigued. GOOD.

Really lovely poised nose of black fruits, cedar and pencil shavings. Quite youthful with very spicy grippy tannins but lovely layering of fruit. Well balanced and enjoyable.

Tuesday Night Double Blind <$30 (Bin 75): Dark purple core with reddish purple rim; purple fruit and flowers, brambly, iodine, a little green pepper, served a little too warm; rich and tannic on the palate though softened by the obvious new oak, finishing with strong iron (Stellenbosch) component; good, needs more bottle age, serve with more chill.

Classic nose of blackcurrant and graphite. Nice sweet black fruits on the entry, a bit of savoury wood coming through in the middle, all wrapped up in fine spicy tannins. Very good.
