The cork came out intact but an hour or two after popping, the nose is mostly tertiaries. On the palate it has high acid, low tannin, and a little bit of red fruit. It is mostly leather, earth and wet tobacco leaves. I was surprised to see this had been outperformed by a Bordeaux. I thought the nebbiolo would shine a little brighter. Maybe I should have decanted.

From memory. Last of four bottles, not surprisingly each unique, this one decanted about six hours, sweet and fresh from the beginning, but not surprisingly, mild. The second day it was interestingly notably darker, but a little tired. Enjoyed with sous vide rack of lamb

Ruby to pinky peach. Decanted 8 hours, better after 11. Flowery soft red fruit nose, initially too tart palate, later barely ripe red and black berry and cherry fruit, old leather and some smoke at the edges, with abundant but soft tannins. Cleansing and medium-long finish. 1975 was apparently a mediocre year, but this was a very nice wine retaining considerable power to accompany its aging beauty. Enjoyed with sous vide rolled relaxed chicken.
