  • "Día de los Daddys" (Chicago, IL): Nice to visit this after a long while; I think this is starting to fade away and begin a slow descent. The fruit is fading and the wine feels like the acidity is a bit too prominent at this point. Thinning out and not quite as enjoyable as I remember it being a few years ago (we drank a lot of this when it was easy to get). I guess my note 2.5 years ago was pretty spot on. Drink up.

  • Solid drinking white Burgundy. Not too reductive, but a touch of salinity and nice fresh acids. This bottle seems to have started to pick up a little bit of maturity as well, as the fruit profile seems to have started rounding out (not premox though). I doubt this has much more gas to travel further, so drink up.

  • Opened this to have a glass while I wrote up some Hermitage notes. It's the kind of lazy drinking white Burgundy that I love. A splash of reduction at first, but there are some mild white flowers and some tart fruit on the nose, followed by a really flinty and mineral-inflected palate. Plenty of tart fruit to give this cut. A nice little hint of almonds on the finish. Not complex but definitely tasty and refreshing.

  • A few at S.K.Y. (Chicago, IL): The nose here is lean, with a slight hint of matchstick and some nice pear aromas. The palate though is a lot broader and rounder than the bottle last week -- probably more a function of me than of the wine, to be honest. Zippy acids with some nice rounded fruit on the palate. Not the most complex but fairly delicious. For my money, I think the Remilly and Dents are where to go.

  • More Bebu (Chicago, IL): Not much reduction here tonight. Lovely tart white fruits, and I particularly love the pineapple tone here. The palate isn't as dense and concentrated as the better St. Aubin sites, but there's still plenty to love here. To me, more than ready to enjoy now, but a few years will help to round off any remaining sharp edges.
