Very pale (almost clear) with a tinge of yellow-green. Lychee and honeydew notes. Tart at first, but quickly balances out with a medium-short finish. Did not have the typical strong flavors of a Gewürzt, but it was an easy drinker. Great for a summer afternoon as an alternative to a Grüner.

Although by all means this was a tasty wine, I was a little disappointed. I usually get a thrill from Gewurztraminer from front to back with big fruit and everything else to a long finish. I tried their Pinot Gris last week, and was very impressed. My beef with this wine, is how quickly it died after the initial hit of very fresh fruit on the entry. There was tons of lychee fruit, so strong, it reminded me of how the first drink of orange juice hits the palate in the morning. Then, almost nothing. There was enough acid to call this wine, but no mouth filling viscosity, or secondary flavors. It just kind of stopped. Even the nose was kind of subdued. I don't think anything was wrong with the bottle storage. We might have served it too cold. Might should try another bottle.

AWS White Clay Chapter - Gwurtztraminer: Some slate and floral notes. Sweet and tart at the same time. Pear, apple, lemon, and slightly oily. Nice subtle but complex finish. I liked this at $12.99 a bottle. Best QPR of the night.
