10 years old. My last bottle of 12. Probably a good thing too. A lot less "bubbles" with it on the way to turning into a still wine. I could taste the age and I'm not sure it added anything. I am tending towards drinking Black Shiraz's in the 4 to 6 year age. Drink very soon.

During a Shiraz tasting dinner with friends. Drinking sparkling Shiraz from Australia is always fun. First, there are the faces of the wine connoisseurs when they see it for the first time, then their reaction. This sparkling red did really well. Great, red berry aromas paired with some earthy, stalky notes in the background. Good tannins to buffer the fruit. Almost everybody on the table (mostly Europeans) were a little bit ashamed to admit that they liked it. I have no problem with that, especially since it comes from a producer who hat put fantastic Barossa Shiraz for many, many years. Awesome apero wine, much better than any Rose or Cheap Chard/SauvBlanc, not to mention about horrible Chasselas. I later learned that this is the only sparkling Shiraz that has made it to the Langton's Classification, which tracks Australia best wines, kind of the Grand Cru classification of down under. 94+

Excellent. Length and some complexity developed with aeration. No rush to drink these.

Full of fruit and oak is well balanced. I would this would taste better with more age however the cork is relatively stained. But then again why wait!
